64 We identify risks that could lead to injuries through our Risk Hunting Projects realized to eliminate all work accidents, especially those causing head injuries, and we take the necessary measures and create awareness about these risks. With the form we distribute among the members of the work group, we identified 415 dangers and risks that may cause head injuries within the processes. We took measures to minimise the risks which we identified in a fast and effective way with the engagement of all our employees. Furthermore, we carry out our continuous improvement works with the 1,050 risk notifications received from our production lines and operation processes. With the Risk Hunting Projects we identify risks that may cause injuries, take measures and raise awareness. InnovativeWarehouse Pedestrian Safety System: GÖZCÜ We identified that pedestrians entering into the warehouse area created an important OHS risk despite the visual warnings and informative training provided during internal logistics processes in the factories. Although its repetition rate is low, pedestrian entries to warehouse areas may lead to dangerous consequences depending on the possibility of encountering equipment with blades. Through an innovative approach, we developed a system called “Gözcü” in order to prevent pedestrian entries to the warehouse areas. The system continuously watches over the entry area of the warehouse with a depth sensor camera and it prevents pedestrians entering the warehouse by giving sound alarms and visual warnings when a pedestrian entry is identified. One of the important features of the system is its ability to distinguish pedestrians among others entering the visual range of the camera. We managed to raise significant awareness of pedestrian entries to the warehouse are with this project and we were presented MESS Golden Glove Recommended Application Award for the innovative approach. This was a project that inspired us to install similar systems at different points in the factory (places where people should not enter such as robot lines, automated lines, press lines). The project is planned to be installed at truck unloading areas in 2019. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTHAND SAFETY PERFORMANCE Lost Day Rate Accident Frequency Rate 20.00 15.00 10.00 5.00 0.00 2016 2017 2018* 5.90 2.49 14.69 4.81 0.51 0.93 *In the Accident Frequency Rate calculation, only the major accidents with 3 or more lost days were taken into account in 2016 and 2017 and calculation criteria were changed in 2018 to include accidents without lost days. This is the reason for the increase observed in 2018. INVESTING IN EMPLOYEES
